Overall, Canadian manufacturing processes are governed by over 400 federal and provincial pieces of legislation, as well as thousands of regulations and self-imposed standards – all of which Canadian industry meets or regularly exceeds.

Industry applauds the government for being the first and only country to undertake a comprehensive review of all substances in commercial use as a basis for informed decision making. This achievement deserves national attention.

Industry has an obligation to Canadians to ensure product safety and our resources are fully committed to this effort.
